I grew up in San Diego, California, and earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Stanford University. During college, I substitute taught and completed my honors thesis research on language development in preschoolers at Stanford's world-renowned Bing Nursery School. After two years of working with high school students in the Bay Area, I moved to Boulder, Colorado to earn my Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. While in graduate school, I interned at the Center for Stuttering Therapy in Boulder and worked as a student clinician in the Successful Stuttering Management Program. When my coursework was finished, I returned to California and completed my internships at the Children's Health Council and the Palo Alto Unified School District. I spent my clinical fellowship year working in elementary schools in the Palo Alto Unified School District, treating children with a wide variety of communication needs in the areas of articulation, expressive and receptive language, social pragmatics, fluency, and autism.
After several years in the school setting, I chose to focus on raising my growing family. About a decade ago, I opened my private practice and have been helping children with their speech and language skills in a variety of settings ever since. I moved back to Boulder in 2014 and have also worked as an assistant teacher in kindergarten and first grade at Mackintosh Academy. I am a part of the team of therapists at the Center for Stuttering Therapy and am also a long term substitute SLP for preschools in the Adams 12 School District.
I love spending time with my three teenage sons and extroverted cat. I also enjoy hiking, writing, quilting, knitting, climbing 14ers, camping, reading, fly fishing, swimming, and playing Texas Hold 'Em!
